The Program

Forough Goes West promises to be a lively, inter-disciplinary exploration of art, life, and legacy of one of the most influential Middle Eastern writers of the twentieth century, the Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad. Through a series of artistic and scholarly presentations, the program will open a window into a largely unknown area of world literature—that made up by women writers in Iran—and also bring to Princeton some of the most talented writers and artists to have emerged from the Iranian diaspora community in the United States.
